When I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I was devastated. It seemed that I could not eat most of the foods I loved and grew up eating. It was a total lifestyle change and I had no idea where to turn. The information was overwhelming and I was overwhelmed at where I should start.
The Lancaster Area Celiac Support Group was my savior. Having guidance from people who were experienced helped me learn about the the dietary changes I needed to make to become healthy. They also discussed where to shop for gluten free foods and how to eat safely at restaurants. Since then, I have learned to live happy and healthy on the gluten free diet. I enjoy helping others cope with the gluten free diet, including my dAughter who was also diagnosed with Celiac Disease two years ago. I recommend everyone attend a few meetings, you will find them very helpful. I look forward to your questions and comments. – Michele
